As promised I want too give you a closer look at my x-mas and New Year's outfits:
First off we have the one I wear for more casual events
The colour is hard to really define, but I like to consider it a bright strawberry red and one of the only red's that works well with my skin tone (no matter what a sales person may say, there is no specific "IN" colour because everyone looks good in different colours).
-I was actually extremely lucky that this shirt matched a gorgeous skirt I had picked up from THE LIMITED a month or so before. They are actually the exact same colour! I was really shocked! I picked up the skirt on a whim because I loved the flow of it (especially when you twirl ;) ).
The outer fabric is pleated and shear while the "slip" is the same colour, but just a shimmering polyester material. Like the shirt, it is also very light and would be good for warmer weather as well. I can picture it with a very slimming black top, possibly tucked in due to the black lining on the top.
-Now for my party and fancy gown. I actually got this Chinese style dress as a gift, but it was purchased from an Asian store in my local mall. The brand is called WEI YIAO (WY). Both sides have a gorgeous slit all the way up to my thighs. I actually tend to wear a pair of bicycle shorts underneath- just in case 0.0. The fit is a bit tricky; it doesn't allow much room for curves in the hips. When it did fit my middle and shoulders it gets tight around the hips making it hard to sit. Now I can sit fine, but the middle is a bit too loose.
The pattern is gorgeous with dragons and peacocks in metalic.
I love the neckline as well with the embellishments coming from the side as loop-and-knot closures.
As just because it looks really cool, here's the inside:
You can tell it was used to create the metalic shimmer.
Well, that's all for tonight. I do have a crazy day tomorrow, so I don't know if I'll have a post for you, but the next one will be my completed dress design. It's my first time sharing a clothing design with other people, so I'm very nervous how it will turn out. It will also have a little trick to it that is really taking some extra thought.
See you next time!
Ney-Ney
